Tapping for Inspiration

I’ve said it several times: I’m a pantser, even if I have a good idea of the main structure of a story. But knowing a chapter is to be about a hunt, for example, doesn’t mean I know every detail and how to make it exciting.

So sometimes, I sit at my desk and don’t know what to write next.

And that’s when take a deep breath and tap.

Yes, it works.

I believe it actually works on two levels:

It calms any anxiety about not being able to write.

That’s about the worst thing that can happen to a writer, not being able to write. It’s an extremely frustrating feeling. The story wants out, and it’s stuck. Ugh.

For me, it’s even a little worse because I only know how the story goes when I write it. So I’m even blocked from discovering the next step, unless I can get my creativity back up and running.

It encourages inspiration.

As you calm your nervous system with the tapping and release the anxiety and stress of not being able to write, you’re opening the space for inspiration to arrive.

And I believe it’s not *just* letting go of stress. It’s actually like reconnecting with the sense of adventure and play. The question “what if?” becomes fun again and your brain comes up with tons of new ideas.

I admit to playing this game in bed a lot because that’s my safe place. Your safe place will work just as well.

And here are tapping sentences to use for you – may you get truly inspired!

Even though I’m so stuck in my story and my plot, it’s so frustrating! I’m still okay the way I am, and I now allow myself to let go of all that frustration.

Even though I feel like a lousy writer when I get stuck like this, I’m still okay the way I am, and I now choose to let go of feeling bad so inspiration can come back.

Even though I hate being stuck like this, I’m okay the way I am, and I now choose to relax and rediscover my playfulness in order to be inspired.

Your Turn:
How did the tapping feel?
What’s your safe place of inspiration?
How will you celebrate your new inspiration?
And finally – what are you working on?
Write a comment and share the good stuff!

PS: Mindset is really, truly the core of any success. And let’s face it, a negative mindset won’t get you far, and certainly not through disappointment and hard times. However, it’s very possible to change mindset and develop a positive one that makes life and writing such more fun (and brings in success).

I have used EFT to release lots of old experiences, blocks and limiting beliefs, enabling my clients to enjoy what they are doing. It is very possible to develop a healthy, supportive mindset as author. If that idea appeals to you, click HERE and send me an email. Together, we’ll figure out how I can support you best.

PPS: My newsletter contains a full tapping round to go with my blog posts, so you can start shifting your mindset. Sign up through the form on the upper right hand corner, and receive that tapping round plus occasional special offers. If you’re on a mobile, you can sign up through this link: Newsletter Sign-up.
