The Money Experiment – Money is Bad

Money is evil

Money is evil.

The Money Experiment continues.

(I posted my experience with the intro tapping in a comment under that article, if you’re interested.)

The next four articles including this one are about beliefs we have about money itself.  And I’m going to tackle the bull right at the horns:

Money is bad.

I think that’s a very old belief. It even existed in Roman times, when money became a big part of the economy. And the background seems to be that money has a bad influence on people and/or causes bad things. It’s connected with:

– greed
– arrogance
– debt
– crime
– bribery
– manipulation

I’ll go into some of those in detail in later posts. But let’s just run with the idea that money is bad for now.

Who would want money, if it’s bad?

Every sensible person would stay away from bad things.

So if you have that belief, it’s not a surprise money doesn’t exactly flow freely to you. In fact, you’re probably doing everything to have just the bare minimum you need! And if you have a windfall, well, you’ll get rid of that as fast as possible. And the Universe can create very inventive ways of parting you from the money you don’t really want to have anyway. Look for that pattern in your life if you suspect you might have picked up this belief.

Needless to say that this belief is definitely in the way of having financial success, or being a full-time author.

Let’s get rid of it!

Even though I may have picked up the belief that money is bad at some point in my life, I’m totally okay the way I am, and I’m now ready to shift this and accept money into my life.

Even though I may be surrounded by people who believe that money is inherently bad, and that’s why I get rid of it as soon as possible, I’m still okay the way I am, and I’m now open to the possibility that money is simply a tool, to be used wisely.

Even though deep inside I believe that money is evil, I’m okay the way I am, and I’m now ready to shift that belief and choose to know that money simply is what I make of it.

Your Turn:
Does this belief sound familiar?
How did that make you feel?
What happened while you were tapping?
And finally – what are you writing right now?
Would love to hear from you!

One Response to The Money Experiment – Money is Bad

Tapping on this was more difficult that last week. It’s possible that only a part of me is still buying this “money is bad” stuff by now. (It’s not as if I haven’t worked on this…)

So I turned to a special technique to get something moving: I did ping-pong tapping, using “money is bad, money is good” as tapping phrases. This tends to confuse the original belief, so it’s possible to make a new choice after a few rounds. I was rewarded with some yawns (a sign that energy is shifting).

So I went into ideas about what that money could do for me, and the thought of having more money and paying someone to clean my apartment was quite fascinating. Because it basically means that money flows to me and through me to someone else.

Which is not bad at all.

The whole idea of money flowing to me from people who I serve, and flowing from me to people who serve me, suddenly became quite fascinating and soothing. Flow is neither good or bad. It just is, and this felt good and natural because the lives of everyone in this flow is getting better: My clients are getting better. My life is getting better (I hate cleaning). And the cleaner’s life is getting better through whatever he or she is doing with that money.

I love that vision. Money flowing from person to person, making life better. That’s certainly something to hold onto.
